Numerical Rocks

Numerical Rocks AS was established in 2004 as a subsidiary company of Statoil. The company is today the world leader in computational rock core analysis, combining computer generated rock models with numerical simulations to estimate reservoir rock properties. The company has developed a proprietary software e-Core, in use at client sites around the world. With 25 employees, Numerical Rocks is based in Trondheim, Norway.

Reservoir Engineer with 5years+ Industry Experience


We are looking for an experienced Reservoir Engineer for a commercial, client services and project management role in our Technical Services team. The team provide reservoir properties and behaviour based on 3D models (µCT images or thin section images) of the reservoir rock. Additionally the team work with our technology development groups to further develop our range of e-Core products and services.

Your profile:
• Higher education MSc (minimum) in Reservoir Engineering or a directly related field
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience from either the oil / gas or a service industry.
• Strong technology skills and a keen interest in IT tools
• Creativity, enthusiasm, scientific integrity and excellent collaborative skills
• Available to start work no later than summer 2012.

Tasks and responsibilities include:
• Primarily, the role will perform and project manage technical studies for our clients.
• Direct client follow-up including client-site meetings, presenting and discussion of results, investigating and initiating sale of further projects.
• Development of new e-Core products, working in cross-disciplinary teams.

GEOLOGIST

Description: Performed multiple services on rock samples at the Wellsite and Laboratory involving structural geology, geomechanic, core description, basic core processing.
The candidate must be willing to travel intensively

Required qualifications: Diploma, MSc or PhD in geology with a focus on structural geology

 CORE SERVICES TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVE

A vacancy exists within the Sales and Marketing Group based in the UK for a Core Services Technical Representative to support and promote the Company’s Core Analytical Service Group. 

A good communicator with previous client/customer relationship experience would be preferable to discuss and advise on scopes of work and projects with current and prospective clients.  This position would ideally suit candidates educated to degree level in Geology/Science with a strong geology or mud logging work experience background, combined with a positive attitude, enthusiasm and drive to meet targets essential. Extensive travel including Europe, North Africa and Middle East will be required. 

CORE ANALYST

Vacancies exist within the Core Services Group for experienced Core Analysts both in UK and overseas.

Past experience with project coordination, technical/data evaluation, a good communicator with previous client/colleague relationship experience, self motivated, able to work independently and in a team to meet strict deadlines. This position would ideally suit candidates educated to degree level in Geology/Science combined with proven experience in core analysis.
