Symposium 2008 Hotel Booking
The Beach Rotana Hotel which is the 2008 symposium venue has reported difficulties with on-line room reservation. The hotel is working hard to solve the problem. Until further notice room bookings can only be made via fax or by scanning the form duly filled out and e-mailing it to the Hotel. Look at the Symposium Registration for Hotel details.

Because of some internal delay submitters of abstracts have not been informed yet about the status of their abstracts.
All 71 abstracts have now been reviewed and authors will be informed during this week and certainly on or before Friday 2nd May.

Abstracts
Gary Sinclair, the VP Technology for the 2008 symposium reports that 70+ abstracts have been received. They are with the Technical Committe with a deadline for review completion of 4th April.

The abstract submission date officially closed on Friday 15th February and thank you to all who have submitted abstracts. We know that some of you experienced difficulties when submitting the abstract online, if anyone could not submit their abstract or missed the deadline please send directly to Gary Sinclair VP Technology with a copy to Bas Schipper by Friday 22nd February.

As the abstract submission deadline was extended authors will now be notified if the abstract is to be accepted by first week in April 2008.

SPWLA 2008 Symposium
The 49th Annual Logging Symposium of the SPWLA will be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) in Edinburgh, Scotland, 25-28th May, 2008.
Online Pre-Registration is now available at the SPWLA website.

There has been a lot of interest in the field trip and short courses which have a limit on numbers so early registration is recommended.
