Call for Abstracts - 2010 SCA Symposium
On request of many people the VP Technology has decided to extend the abstract submission data to 19 February 2010.

Wettability Symposium 2010 - Calgary, Canada
The following message was received from Barry Bennett:

On behalf of the local organizing committee in Calgary, we are pleased to provide you with a preliminary announcement (dates for your diary) regarding the 2010 Wettability meeting.
The Wettability Symposium will be held at the University of Calgary on September 7-9, 2010, in Calgary, Canada.

The key sessions/topics to be addressed during the conference include:
1) Fundamentals of Reservoir Wettability
2) Wettability and Oil Recovery
3) Wettability simulation / modelling
4) Wettability and its effect on oil sand processing
5) Wettability alteration during thermal recovery
6) Surfactants / modification of wettability
7) Spontaneous Imbibition
8) Wettability: methods of measuring / detecting phenomenon
9) Wettability in carbonate systems

We invite you to consider submitting an abstract related to any of the above session themes. Further details regarding length of abstract, formatting, as well as information on the conference venue will appear shortly. For your information the abstract deadline is March 31, 2010. Authors will be notified by e-mail of acceptance or rejection before May 31, 2010.
We also welcome your suggestions of others who might be interested in participating in this conference. Please send names (including affiliation, e-mail) of these potential contributors.
We hope you and your organization can contribute to the success of this meeting and we look forward to receiving your abstract.

2010 Symposium in Halifax, Canada
The preparation for the 2010 symposium is in full swing. The symposium will be held the week of October 4, 2010.
The theme for the symposium and the workshop is:
“Core: From Wellsite to Production”
The call for Abstracts will be published soonest on this website. If you have questions or remarks regarding the technical part of the symposium you may contact the VP Technology, Ted Braun at VPTech@scaweb.org.

SCA members are kindly requested to consider sponsorship of the symposium in their 2010 budgeting proposals. A sponsorship application form will be published soonest but pls contact Jill for any question you have.
