Noordwijk aan Zee, Netherlands, 27th to 30th September 2009
Symposium Theme:
“Improved Core Analysis for Unconventional Fields”
The conference will be held at the Hotels van Oranje, Noordwijk (http://www.hotelsvanoranje.com) consisting of a workshop and 3 days of technical sessions (including both oral and poster presentations). The theme of the workshop will consider coupled subsurface processes (THMC, HMC, etc.), the title to be confirmed at a later date.
The SCA Technical Committee invites abstract submission for oral presentations and posters for the following proposed sessions:
- Case Studies – in particular integrated studies applying core analysis to reservoir engineering and improved field understanding
- Improved SCAL Techniques and Interpretation
- Wettability - Determination/Restoration – Practices and Recommendations
- Displacement Mechanisms - understanding the key reservoir processes
- Reservoir Characterization (Rock and Fluids) - including sample characterization and selection, scale of measurement, optimizing test design
- Pore Scale Imaging and Modelling
- Improved/Enhanced Oil Recovery and injection processes
- Sequestration – CO2, H2S, etc.
- Other. (If your paper does not fit directly into any of the above then please suggest an alternative topic/theme)

Submission Form |
| The form should be fully completed for each abstract submitted for consideration. The Technical Committee will review all abstracts. For accepted abstracts (oral or poster presentations) a complete manuscript will be required by 8th May 2009. The manuscripts will then be reviewed by the Technical Committee. Authors should note that acceptance of the abstract does not automatically guarantee acceptance of the final manuscript, this will only be confirmed after the completed manuscript has been reviewed by the Technical Committee. |
(1) Papers previously presented will only be
considered if they are of exceptional interest
and when there would be no infringement of existing
copyright.
(2) The length of the abstract should be between
200 and 400 words. The abstract should be intelligible
in its own right, and the use of equations trademarks,
literature references, and supplementary text
should be avoided. The information contained in
the abstract is the principal basis for the acceptance
or rejection of a paper. The abstract should present
the method(s) of approach and important results
in condensed form, emphasizing original aspects
and technical advances and innovations. |
